The Final Double Dutch

Sad news came in today when it was announced Malcolm McLaren died age 64 from cancer. Most news rely on on his notorious Sex Pistols role of course, but I experienced McLaren when I started listening to Hip Hop next to Post Punk. In my record collection shelf he stands next to Mantronix and he was as influential as Curtis Mantronik's beats were to me. Next to Chris Stein, he was another white musician who brought Black Music to a white suburban kid like I was in that time. He opened the doors for me to a wider world a amazing music and I'm thankful for that. The fantastic "Duck Rock" album is playing my MK2 now. R.I.P.!
